Our PastSoutheastern Architectural Woodworks was incorporated in 1978 under the name of Southeastern Constructors by Joel Price as a service provider for the custom commercial contracting industry. Originally, he focused on custom homes and then on providing rough and finish carpentry for restaurant and re-modeling contractors. Over the years Joel began to focus on the fabrication and installation of custom architectural millwork. In 1989 Southeastern built its first building that was principally a custom millwork fabrication shop. It was a slow process, but within 10 years enough space and equipment had been accumulated to compete successfully on large volume projects. Today, now known as Southeastern Architectural Woodworks, Inc., we occupy a facility of more than 43,000 square feet, employ more than 50 talented craftsmen and utilize some of the most advanced machinery in the industry. SAW has become the provider of choice through our commitment to quality products provided, finished and installed, in accordance with the general contractor’s schedule. Our participation in the Architectural Woodworkers Institute and our abilities to lend valuable input to the project specifiers and designers has also helped to enable SAW to reach the highest levels in customer confidence in the industry. Now, after more than 30 years in business, we have provided custom millwork and casework to projects in Louisiana, Oklahoma, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Mississippi. |
Our PresentAt Southeastern Architectural Woodworks we start every project in our Drafting Department, producing shop drawings that are second to none in both quality and detail. From these drawings, we produce cut tickets that can be sent directly to the shop floor for processing on computer numerically controlled machinery such as a panel saw, edge-bander, drilling/dowel insertion machine and a point-to-point machine. We have some of the finest craftsmen in the field in our Bench Department. Their years of experience are only surpassed by their talent. They produce specialty items from Desks to Wall Panels. In this area, we have a veneer/laminate press that allows us to lay-up our own panel products. These in-house abilities enhance quality and aide in quicker turn around on jobs. In our Solid Surface Department, we have the capability of v-grooving parts to increase quality and provide the cleanest look in this medium. We also have an oven that allows us to thermally form solid surface products. Our mechanics are licensed fabricators of most product lines, including Corian, Formica, and Avonite. SAW can complete the fabrication of your project to the highest standard in our Finishing Department. “Factory” finishing cannot be matched on the jobsite. Not only can we build it, but in order to offer turnkey jobs, Southeastern has its own installation crews. We don’t trust just anyone to install our products. We at Southeastern have spent years developing relationships with quality subcontractors for products that we cannot fabricate in-house such as stainless steel, glass and granite, just to name a few.
